A Truly Unique C1-K1 Marathon Race
In the Burlington C1-K1 Pursuit race format, the field compresses as the race progresses – just the opposite of what you might be used to.
This is an engineered canoe & kayak race, as much as that is possible. The course selection and layout, time duration, seeded system and event rules are all designed to deliver an increasingly more exciting race – right up to a series of high intensity finish line sprints.
The Pursuit unfolds over a technically dynamic river course filled with other seeded boats, hard natural turns, buoy turns, heavy current upstream segments, long and short shallows and bogs, and moderate hazards. The result is a continuously evolving lead, lots of individual little dramas out on the race course itself, and an intensely high energy mass finish.
